Empowering Health, Embracing Simplicity
Hi, I'm Hannah Brown
Founder of Natural Health Simplicity
A bit about me:
I spent years of working in a toxic environment, I was struggling to be healthy and to feel good. Yes, I was eating healthy & going to the gym. But I was working all the time, sleeping the day away when I had a day off to "catch up" on sleep, waking up in the middle of the night with anxiety that my boss would yell at me for something I "did wrong" (she'd always find something), and drinking after work every night or partying to release stress.
Then, Covid-19 happened- all the restaurants closed down and we were stuck at home. I lived in a big house with roommates who all had their boyfriends/girlfriends stay with us during the shut down. It was like a big party house, every day. I partied for about a week and then I decided I was going to take this time and focus on bettering myself. I started reading, meditating, exercising more, I stopped drinking, and I was making very healthy (mostly) vegan meals. I started to feel incredible.
My stress diminished and I was thriving.
Then, before you know it, we were back to work. And my boss didn't waste any time stressing me out again. I was miserable, not because I hated my job- I absolutely love bartending and taking care of people, she single-handedly made me feel awful. And once again I was back to losing sleep, eating poorly, and drinking.
And then, she laid me off.
I recognized in this time that health is more than eating healthy and going to the gym. It has so much to do with your stress levels. You can eat healthy all you want but if you're stressed out and not sleeping, you're not going to feel good.
I didn't search for another job. Instead, I took out my computer and decided that I wanted to use my love for serving others and do something good with it. I just had NO clue what to do. I kept meditating and asking the Universe to help me figure out what I wanted to do (I know, sounds silly to some of you). I kept thinking about health and wellness. How can I help others become healthy & reduce stress?
An ad for IIN (Institute of Integrative Nutrition) popped up on my Instagram and I decided to take it as a sign. It took a little bit (ok, maybe a lot) of hesitation & debating before I finally made the decision to go to IIN. I am SO glad I did.
IIN taught me so much about health & wellness. They taught me about bio-individuality (how everyone is different and not one diet works for everyone), I learned some of the scary truths about the food industry & big pharma- how they go hand in hand, and how a lot of the "foods" we eat are actually slowly killing us with the harmful ingredients. They taught me what a Health Coach was (I had never heard of one before).
Health Coaching is a person who provides support, guidance, and motivation to make positive changes in various areas of life like nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep. Health coaches work with clients to set goals, create action plans, and overcome obstacles. Their focus is on empowering individuals to take control of their health and make lasting lifestyle changes.
I decided to take a leap with this new knowledge and begin my Health Coaching career.
The response I have had from the clients I have worked with has been incredible. To be able to change lives for the better and watch people transform from struggling daily to thriving is the ultimate reward.
If you have been struggling to reach your health goals, working with a Health Coach could be the key to your success. The most successful people have coaches- don't you want to thrive like them?
